Wow! 300 mbps makes me a bit envy although a few years ago I got an upgrade from 25 to 50 mbps without having to pay more. But all this really makes sense if servers are able to supply such high bitrates. But, being not always (or should I say, nearly never) informed about newest technical progresses - what do I know? I'm here since v 2.11 and upgraded my license at v 2.99 and v 4. I knew at the time that upgrading at v 2.99 would leave me to have to pay again at literally just one major version number, but I was (and still am) so excited about this little piece of software, that I thought it was more than fair to do so. -Data

yeah sure, but... stop and think.... 20 more major versions and it will have almost cost me as much as one version of Cubase... :) :D

The real reason they probably want you to move to fiber is because they own the fiber lines and are leasing the use of the copper. Even if they own both, there are fewer and fewer people with a land line phone. A lot of land line phones that you get bundled with cable are actually VOIP these days, so you are not really getting the benefit of having a land line which was that it ran on it's own power system so would remain useful during a power outage. I think since the customer base has dwindled, and remains to do so, phone companies probably want to phase out copper line distribution so that they only have to maintain one system (fiber) instead of two. They stand to save unbelievable amounts by eliminating the copper phone line system. A single server stack can handle what took many phone buildings to do and requires a much smaller backup generator.

1.5 mbps lol I've been living in 2000 for all these years... well, every citizen in this country has. I really don't know what it feels like to download something faster than 160 Kb/s lol
