Engine Temperature

I have a 1999 S40 Gdi and was wondering if the engine temperature was correct? The guage sits half way on instruments at all times no matter what temperature is outside! i know that wont make it go up or down, but just wondered if it was too high and should read a bit lower? it does of coarse return to zero when cold i:e, its not stuck! many thanks for any response

Thanks for that, got a few of the gdi poor running probs and wanted to make sure it wasnt a factor! off with the throttle body instead me thinks!!
